YOUTH TRAVEL WORK VISAS AND VOLUNTEERING JOBS

You may or may not be aware of working in foreign countries with or without a visa .Obviously at the time of writing there are many agreements between nations usually at the youth level for recipricol work visa programs as well as volunteering work which usually circumvents all the regualtions and allows you to work in almost any country without a work visa usually in exchange for board and lodgings to be honest the Globetrotters bible as it is called below is almost essential reading and covers all the above subjects in great detail and more as well as the trials and tribulations of travelling and how to avoid them guaranteed to give you both wonderlust and the forearmed confidence to deal with almost any situation

That said lets look at the options and from someone whoose travelled for the last 12 years it comes with a bit of a warning that once you start you cant seem to stop !! maybe i will nest year though !

Looking at the options for young people in particular there is the YMS or youth mobility scheme wont go into too much detail here as they are always changing the criteria and ages for this but generally is available to persons from the following countries and allows at least one year work visa upto 3 at time of wrtitng and is usually a two way street recipricol

You can apply for a Tier 5 (Youth Mobility Scheme) visa if you’re aged 18 to 30 and you’re from:

  • Australia
  • Canada
  • Japan
  • Monaco
  • New Zealand
  • Hong Kong
  • Republic of Korea
  • Taiwan
  • UK

Secondly around the world there can be local/international agreements such as EU member states australia and new zealand (dont have to tell you kiwis and aussies that !) just using as an example ! allowing work in other countries too many to name really and may or may not be relevent more details about individual countries in the book above as well as the how to

Finally almost we look at the aforementioned volunteering schemes where you get FREE Board and lodgings in return for a maximum of 20 hours a week and as such circumnavigates all the visa/regulations rules for working in the country and at time of press is available in regardless of nationallity (unless for some reason your not allowed in the country )

sites such as HELPX and WORKWAY are the two in the industry and worth reading up about first

you could even combine the workaway with starting a travel blog or other line of online work and allow yourself some spending money ontop maybe allowing you to travel indefinately
